Living, working and living in the energy network in Reininghaus Süd.

Along the Peter-Rosegger-Straße, two-storey offices and commercial buildings form a quietly structured street front. The floors above are reset and summarize the street front. The small square with the bank and the shops marks the entrance to the settlement and accentuates the connection to the new district Reininghaus. The entire living area behind it is kept free of traffic.

energy concept

With the implementation of the plus energy association Reininghaus Süd, a forward-looking demonstration construction project has been created that creates an economically feasible, technically and organizationally innovative solution. The plus-energy approach does not take place at the level of the individual building, but rather within a multifunctional building network. In a first step, the individual building is optimized and transformed from an energy consumer to an energy producer. In a second step, synergies within the building network bring about further optimization of the system.

Office and business space, Assisted living

Two-storey office and commercial buildings form a barrier to the street. The two storeys above are set back and comprise 34 apartments for assisted living. Each apartment has its own balcony with a beautiful view over the Graz basin. On the corridor there are wooden boxes that serve as storage space for the inhabitants. The wooden boxes, together with the different colors, interrupt the monotony of the corridor and also reflect the three “houses” inside, which are also visible from the outside. All apartments are south-facing with direct views of the adjacent residential development with gardens and squares. This mix of service providers, assisted living and social housing gives the entire plant the quality of a small village.
