This project is characterised by simplicity and the creation of diverse, versatile indoor and outdoor spaces.

Child-friendly scale

Clear forms of the building volume and structure in the floor plan organisation form the basis. The cubature of the L-shaped floor plan in combination with the courtyard-forming pergola creates a sheltered courtyard situation. The versatile reference from inside to outside completes the design and harmonises the child-friendly concept.

The group rooms along the facade are optimally lightened from early in the morning until late in the afternoon. The projecting pergola construction creates a flowing transition from playful to natural greenery and at the same time provides structural protection from direct sunlight and overheating. A composition of play areas suitable for children, quiet zones under trees and natural green areas creates a high quality of stay in the outdoor space. The use of natural materials, both as building materials and in the use of surface materials, is a matter of course in relation to the basic approach of the design concept.

The ground floor of the kindergarten is accessed via a spacious entrance area, which serves as a connection between the two floors and a play zone. Seating stairs and a slide allow the children to experience the open space. The arrangement of the administrative areas in the entrance area ensures short distances for staff and clear orientation for parents, while the group rooms can be subdivided and extended to the outside via spacious terraces. Outdoor cloakrooms in the covered outdoor areas allow a quick change between indoors and outdoors. The terrace on the upper floor is connected by a slide and an open staircase. Covered terraces extend the space available in the respective group rooms and act as a weather-protected learning and play area.
